Duke’s Jon Scheyer and Louisville’s Kenny Payne were among the coaching watching five-star Arizona Compass Prep wing Mookie Cook at the Nike EYBL event in Kansas City Thursday, per Joe Tipton.

Coaches from Arizona, Kansas and Oregon also watched Cook, who decommitted from Oregon June 30. Kentucky is also reportedly interested and was a finalist for Cook before he chose the Ducks.

Duke already has the No. 1 recruiting class in 2023, including New Jersey wing Mackenzie Mgbako, while Louisville is looking to build its 2023 recruiting class and remains heavily in the mix for D.J. Wagner, the No. 1 prospect in the class whose grandfather, former Louisville star Milt Wagner, was hired as the school’s Director of Recruiting and Alumni Relations.

“I would first like to say thank you to Coach Altman and the entire basketball coaching staff at the University of Oregon for believing in me,” Cook said when he decommitted.

“I am grateful for their support as well as the fan’s. However, after much consideration and talks with my family, I have decided to reopen my recruitment. During this time I will weigh other options in addition to The University of Oregon.

“I look forward to the continued support as I embark on this journey.“

The 6-7 Cook is also starring as a young LeBron James in the upcoming film Shooting Stars and has not played since GEICO National in March.
