WESTFIELD, IN — With Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton sitting courtside and a barrage of coaches watching, Taylor Bol Bowen did not disappoint.

Bol Bowen, the 6-foot-9, 190-pound wing who has aspirations to become the first ever NBA player out of Vermont, showed his versatility and sheer engine on the glass throughout the opening day of Nike EYBL Session II at the Pacers Athletic Facility.

Kansas, Providence, UConn, Florida State, LSU, Tennessee and several other high major programs have been in the most active in recruiting Bowen, as he explained Friday.

Born in Egypt and bred in Vermont, Bowen showed the issue he poses for defenders as an inside-outside scorer with a deft outside touch. Bowen said every program is moving at the same pace and he’s still in the process of scheduling visits.

He’s quickly developed a relationship with the new head coaching staff at LSU and has heard from Kentucky as well recently. He’s got ties to UConn, with his friendship with friends Donovan Clingan and Alex Karaban headed to Storrs. He’s also got a strong relationship with Providence’s coaching staff.

His trainer, former LIU Brooklyn guard Corey Wright Jr. is also from Providence and the son of legendary Friars guard Corey Wright. Bowen attended Providence’s home game with Marquette in January.

Bowen has improved in all facets of his game and is still focused on getting better.

“Really, all of the schools are moving at the same pace and nobody is really in there as a front runner just yet,” Bowen explained.

While he may not be in a rush to make a decision, the Class of 2023 Bowen certainly played like a guy possessed on Friday. He was active on the glass throughout and hit timely shots alongside his friend and Brewster Academy (NH) teammate, Matas Buzelis.

A 6-foot-10, 180-pound shot maker with offers from Duke, Kentucky, Arizona, UNC, Illinois, Kansas, Wake Forest, Michigan State, Syracuse and others, Buzelis showed his guard skill set on Friday. He hit several deep 3-pointers and displayed purity of vision as a passer and initiated offense throughout.
