Class of 2022 four-star dual-sport athlete Tre Holloman has committed to Michigan State, he announced Saturday via Twitter.

“The relationship with coach (Tom) Izzo,” Holloman told ZAGSBLOG by text. “He’s a Hall of Fame coach and I felt like he was the best to get me to my goals.”

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound point guard from Cretin Derham (MN) Hall and the Howard Pulley AAU Program, chose Michigan State over Oklahoma State, Dayton, Illinois, Minnesota and Marquette.

Holloman took his official visit to Michigan State from June 3-5.

“I feel like I’ll fit in great with the offense they run,” he said. “Seeing Cassius (Winston) play a few years ago, I can see myself like that.”

Ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 12 point guard and No. 67 overall prospect in the class of 2022, Holloman is the first commit in the Spartans’ 2022 recruiting class.

“I’m a pass first point guard who loves to bring energy on defense,” he said. “I’m a great on-ball defender who can score when needed. I love to get in the lane.”
