Illinois big man Kofi Cockburn will withdraw from the NBA Draft but remain in the Transfer Portal, he told Joe Tipton Tuesday.
The 6-foot-11 Cockburn also considered UConn, St. John’s, PIttsburgh and Kansas before pledging to Illinois in January 2019.
Cockburn averaged 17.7 points and 9.5 rebounds last season en route to First-Team All-Big Ten honors, and will be much sought after on the transfer market. Returning to Illinois also remains an option.
The Draft withdrawal deadline is July 7.
