  • Alabama’s John Petty to return to school

    Alabama junior guard John Petty Jr. is coming back.

    Petty announced Monday he will withdraw from the NBA Draft and return to campus after averaging 14.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in his junior campaign.

    Alabama junior forward Herb Jones is also returning to campus after averaging 7.9 points and 6.4 rebounds.

    Alabama is losing sophomore point guard Kira Lewis Jr., a projected first-round draft pick who averaged 18.5 points, 5.2 assists and 4.8 rebounds.

    Alabama has a strong five-man recruiting class coming in and also adds Yale grad transfer Jordan Bruner.
