Fresno State transfer Jarred Hyder is headed to Cal.

The 6-foot-3 freshman guard from chose the Bears over BYU, St. Mary’s, Missouri and Washington State. He will sit one year to play three under the current rules.

“I picked them just because [of] the fit and opportunity I have there along with being on the PAC-12 platform,” he said. “I’ll bring scoring, defense and leadership.”

Hyder averaged 9.1 points, 3.1 assists and 2.6 rebounds last season as a freshman in 24 starts.
