Ohio State freshman transfer D.J. Carton has committed to Marquette, he announced Wednesday, via Twitter.

Carton, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound point guard, averaged 10.4 points, 3.0 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 23.9 minutes per game, playing in 20 games for the Buckeyes this past season.

He took a leave of absence to work on his mental health in late January, before announcing his intentions to transfer on March 19.

Due to transfer rules, Carton will be forced to sit out next season and then have three years of eligibility.

Coming out of high school, Carton was ranked as the No. 34 overall player in the Class of 2019, per 247Sports.
