Redshirt junior guard Charlie Moore will transfer to DePaul, the school announced Monday. It will be Moore’s third team after he transferred to Kansas following his freshman year at California.

“Charlie Moore adds an all-around experienced guard to our program that can shoot and distribute the ball at a high level,” said DePaul head coach Dave Leitao in a statement. “He also brings high-level experience from playing in both the Pac-12 and Big 12 Conferences and his return to his hometown is exciting for our fans and basketball fans in Chicago.”

The 2016 Illinois Mr. Basketball winner, Moore, will return to his hometown of Chicago, Illinois and DePaul. He has two seasons of eligibility left and is likely to apply for an NCAA waiver to play next season. The Lawrence Journal-World’s Matt Tait reported that Moore’s father has been dealing with health issues, which could allow him to get a waiver to play for DePaul next season.

After he sat out the 2017-18 season due to transfer rules, Moore played in 35 games for Kansas last year and averaged 2.9 points and 1.3 assists per game. In his freshman year at California, he averaged 12.2 points and 3.5 assists per game.

If granted a waiver, Moore would join fellow transfers Carte’Are Gordon from Saint Louis and Darious Hall from Arkansas, as well as ESPN’s No. 44 recruit, forward Romeo Weems, and No. 84 recruit, guard Markese Jacobs, on next year’s Blue Demons team.
