MarJon Beauchamp, the 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Rainier Beach (WA), will take his first official visit to Washington on Friday (Oct. 19), he told ZAGSBLOG Tuesday.

“They have a good coaching staff and I’m cool with all of them,” said Beauchamp on Washington. ” I like coach [Mike] Hopkins and the 2-3 zone that they play. Coach Hopkins let his best player be ‘the guy’. That’s what I look into when I look at colleges;  somewhere where they need me, not just want me.”

In addition to Washington, Beauchamp currently holds offers from schools such as Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA, Washington State, Cal Poly, Florida State, Marquette, and Eastern Washington, among others.

“I’m a lengthy scorer,” said Beauchamp. “I use my length for defense and I can also shoot very well.”

Beauchamp says he is waiting to take the SAT on December 1 before planning other visits.

According to 247Sports, Beauchamp is ranked as the No. 21 overall player in the Class of 2020 and the No. 1 player from the state of Washington.
