    P.J. Washington, the 6-foot-8 forward from Frisco, Texas and Findlay Prep (NV), enjoyed his weekend unofficial to Kentucky for Big Blue Madness and is now focusing on four schools.

    Kentucky, Arizona, North Carolina and UNLV remain under consideration, while Texas is out. UNC’s Roy Williams and Kentucky’s Kenny Payne were both expected to visit with Washington on Tuesday.

    Washington attended Kentucky for a second time following an official visit in September, and was at Big Blue Madness along with fellow Class of 2017 stars Mohamed Bamba, Quade Green, Trae Young and Kevin Knox.

    “It was an unofficial for him so we didn’t really spend a lot of time with coaches,” said Paul Washington Sr., the Findlay Prep coach and P.J.’s father. “It was good. The only thing we were looking for is the fans, that old Big Blue Nation. There was definitely a lot of people for sure.”

    The Sharette Dixon Classic is slated for Saturday, Oct. 22 at Gauchos Gym in The Bronx and is once again loaded with talent from the New York/New Jersey area.

    This annual event is being organized in memory of Sharette Dixon, the wife of Kimani Young and mother of Kamaal Young (14), Khaliq Young (12) and Salimah Young (10). Proceeds from the event will support a family education fund that has been established for the three children.

    The Underclass game tips at 6 p.m., with the Upperclass Game set for 8.

    Rawle Alkins has never lacked for confidence.

    The 6-foot-4 Brooklyn native has a New York cockiness and that was on display Friday night before Arizona’s Red-Blue Game.

    Alkins asked head coach Sean Miller to hold a basketball over his head as a prop in the dunk contest. And yes, not only did Alkins avoid kicking his new coach in the head, but he went on to win with this performance. Alkins’ dunk also made No. 5 on the SportsCenter Top 10.

    St. John’s technically doesn’t have any scholarships free for the Class of 2017, but Chris Mullin and his staff are looking to go big in 2018 and beyond.

    So it was a good sign for the program when a slew of young recruits turned out for “Red Storm Tip-Off” that featured Brooklyn-born hip-hop artist Desiigner on Friday night at Carnesecca Arena.

    Among Class of 2018 players St. John’s hosted were commit Boubacar Diakite as well as Naz Reid, Luther Muhammad, Jahvon Quinerly, Moses Brown, Anthony Nelson, Mamadou Doucoure, Khalid Moore and Jared Rhoden.

    Class of 2019 stars Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antoine of the Ranney (N.J.) School as well as Cole Anthony of Archbishop Molloy also came. All three attended the recent USA Basketball mini camp in Colorado Springs, Colo.

    John Calipari was made for Midnight Madness, and Midnight Madness is the perfect opportunity for Calipari to showcase his showmanship.

    The latest edition of Kentucky’s “Big Blue Madness” on Friday night was just the latest example.

    Kentucky brought back a slew of former players to the event — highlighted by current NBA players Boogie Cousins and Willie Cauley-Stein — to address the crowd, which as always included a group of elite recruits and potential future NBA players.

    A long list of former Wildcats also addressed the crowd via a video stressing the program’s family environment: Aaron Harrison, Ron Mercer, Tyler Ulis, Alex Poythress, Tayshaun Prince, Kyle Wiltjer, Devin Booker, Rajon Rondo, Rex Chapman, Brandon Knight, Chuck Hayes, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Eric Bledsoe, Archie Goodwin, John Wall and Nerlens Noel.
