V.J. Bailey, a 6-foot-3 point guard from Austin (TX) McNeil, verbally committed to Oregon on Tuesday night, according to Scout.com and other reports.

Ranked the No. 19 point guard in the Class of 2017 by 247Sports.com, he also considered Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Tulsa.

“I took my first visit to A&M and I enjoyed and to my next one to Tulsa and all the visits I enjoyed, but having my mom, she’s been doing it for 15 or 16 years now, she knows all the little tricks and the recruiting things,” he told Scout.com.

“My dad with him going through it, paid attention to detail in every little thing they took note of. I’m really blessed to have them and they helped me out through the whole process. At the end when we all talked and matched it all up, Oregon was the best fit. I always told people I would go where the best fit was and that’s what I’m doing.”

Oregon also remains in the mix for 2017 shooting guard Brandon Randolph, who will announce Wednesday evening and is considering the Ducks along with Arizona, Syracuse and Wake Forest.
