Twins Caleb and Cody Martin are going from the Wolfpack to the Wolf Pack.
They will transfer to Nevada after picking it over Rutgers on Wednesday. The twins visited both schools this month.
“The program is on the rise and we know they’re really good and just needed a couple more pieces and we could do something special,” Cody Martin told the Reno Gazette Journal. “Just being around the coaching staff and the players, I feel like they all have the same goal. Me and my brother are ready to play and get this thing rolling.
Caleb finished fourth on the Wolfpack in scoring, averaging 11.5 points per game, while Cody averaged 6 points per game. The twins are North Carolina natives.
The Martins join fellow transfers Kendall Stephens (Purdue) and Hallice Cooke (Iowa state). All of the transfers must sit out the upcoming season before becoming eligible in 2017-18. The twins will have two years of eligibility.
“I like that they play really fast-paced,” Cody said of Nevada. “It’s like an NBA-style game and Coach Muss [Eric Musselman] really adjusts to the players he has and adjusts his system. Of course, he’s going to have plays that he runs but for the most part he adjusts it to who he has on the team. That stuck out to me. The fast-paced game, that’s something me and my brother like and that’s not something we go to do a lot. It’s something we’re looking forward to.”
Meantime, Rutgers continues to look to build its roster under first-year coach Steve Pikiell, who recently added San Jacinto College forward Cândido Sá, and 6-9 forward Issa Thiem, as well as Roselle Catholic senior guard Matt Bullock.
