Isaiah Whitehead didn’t work out on Wednesday for the Indiana Pacers as originally planned, and pushed back his announcement plans until March 24.

Whitehead had initially Tweeted he would announce on Thursday whether he would remain in the NBA Draft or return to Seton Hall. He has until May 25 to decide.

It remains unclear if Whitehead sustained a minor injury that impacted the Pacers’ workout.

The Pacers on Wednesday were scheduled to work out Ryan Arcidiacono (Villanova), Wade Baldwin IV (Vanderbilt), Matt Costello (Michigan State), Max Landis (IPFW), Patrick McCaw (UNLV) and Kaleb Tarczewski (Arizona).

Among those who worked out for the Pacers on Tuesday were former Oklahoma point guard Isaiah Cousins, a native of Mount Vernon, N.Y. Sources said Cousins was impressive in the workout. The 6-4 guard is projected as a late-first/early-second round pick.

The 6-foot-4 Whitehead worked out for Philadelphia on Monday.

He is currently projected at No. 58 by DraftExpress.com, and Whitehead said Monday that he was hoping to be chosen in the first round or early-second.

“Late-first round, early-second,” he said. “Just to solidify a spot. I don’t want to go to the NBA and get lost. Definitely just come out here and get as much information as possible.”

Whitehead also had workouts set up with Boston on Friday and Chicago on Monday.

“It’s definitely up in the air,” Whitehead said. “Based off my decision, if I stay in the draft, why not still go there? If I don’t, then obviously they will be cancelled because I can’t.”

With Whitehead and the addition of guard Eron Gordon on Monday, Seton Hall is now at 13 scholarship players.

Should Whitehead return to Seton Hall he would be in the mix for Big East Player of the Year honors next season.

“That’s potentially the best player in the Big East,” one NBA source said. “He’ll be one of the best players in the country.”
