HOUSTONMarkus Howard, a 5-foot-11 point guard from Findlay Prep, announced he will reclass to the Class of 2016 from 2017 and head to Marquette next season.

Howard, a four-star point guard, also considered Arizona State, Baylor and Central Arkansas, where his brother Jordan averaged 20 points per game as a sophomore this season.

“I choose to play basketball at Marquette University,” he announced on this video below. “Come fly with me.”

Howard, who averaged 18.6 points, 3.4 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.5 steals with Findlay Prep, joins small forwards Sam Hauser and Brendan Bailey, the son of former NBA player Thurl Bailey, in Marquette’s 2016 class.

“Marquette is getting one of the best shooters in the country,” Findlay Prep Coach Andy Johnson said. “Markus can really score the basketball. We’re really proud of how Markus grew this year in developing his overall game especially on the defensive end. In addition to Marquette getting a very good player who lives in the gym, Marquette is also getting a great student and a terrific person.”
