Transferring Seton Hall point guard Sterling Gibbs has cut his list to six schools and is planning additional visits, his brother Ashton Gibbs confirmed to SNY.tv.
The 6-foot-2 point guard is down to Pittsburgh, Ohio State, UConn, Baylor, N.C. State and VCU. The news was first reported by Jeff Borzello of ESPN.com.
Gibbs is expected to visit UConn sometime next week following visits this week to Pittsburgh and Ohio State, his brother said.
Gibbs is currently at Pittsburgh through Thursday, with Ashton along for part of the visit. Ashton played for Pitt from 2008-12. Sterling heads to Ohio State Thursday.
Gibbs was a second-team all-Big East selection this past season, averaging 16.3 points and 3.8 assists a game. He is ranked the No. 1 transfer on ESPN’s transfer list. He will be immediately eligible wherever he lands.
