vwlpqg5gbx8eq6m5Shannon Evans, a 6-foot-1 sophomore guard and second-team All-MAC selection, has committed to Arizona State and his former coach Bobby Hurley on his visit.

He will have to sit a year as per NCAA transfer regulations.

“[I like] Coach Hurley and coach Levi [Watkins] and [will have] the opportunity to play at a high level with people I trust,” he told SNY.tv by text.

Evans also held offers from Miami and Boston College and had planned on visiting Miami.

Evans averaged 15.4 points, 4.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 steals and shot 41 percent from the field last season as Buffalo made the NCAA Tournament under Hurley.
