Jayson Tatum met with Kentucky head coach John Calipari Tuesday afternoon and Tatum had nothing but good things to say about the in-home visit.

“It went well [Tuesday] afternoon,” Tatum told SNY.tv by phone. “We had a good talk. He talked a little bit about how he recruited me, how he’s seen me develop ever since I was a freshman, and how he can help me get to the next level.”

The 6-foot-8 Tatum, the No. 3 player in the Class of 2016 according to 247Sports.com, also said Calipari spoke about the players from Kentucky who have entered the NBA Draft.

“He talked about the other guys that have come through the program and went to the NBA,” Tatum said. “He just said that he could do the same for me. There’s a reason they’re in my top four.”

Tatum recently cut his list to include Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke and hometown St. Louis.

Tatum will meet with North Carolina head coach Roy Williams Wednesday morning on an in home-visit as well. Williams also meets Wednesday with 2015 forward Brandon Ingram of Kinston (N.C.).

“I have an in home with Coach Roy Williams [Wednesday] morning,” Tatum said. “It’s been a while since I’ve been able to talk to him face-to-face. Just hearing what he has to say, and asking any questions that he can answer.”

Tatum also said that he will be visiting St. Louis on Wednesday as well.

“I go to St. Louis [Wednesday],” Tatum said. “I’ve been down there quite a bit, going to talk to the coaches tomorrow. I’m a real hometown kid, I love the city of St. Louis, it would mean a lot if I were to stay home and go to St. Louis.”

As for Duke, Tatum was impressed with the addition Tuesday of Findlay Prep point guard Derryck Thornton, who relassed to 2015 and committed to the national champs.

“Derryck is a great player,” Tatum said. “He will help out Duke a lot. He’s a great point guard, he’s a great passer, he’s a great defender. He’s a great basketball player.”
