Malik Newman actionNEW YORK –Malik Newman will announce his college choice at noon Central Time on Friday at The Clarion-Ledger, multiple sources told SNY.tv.

The event will be streamed at ClarionLedger.com.

The 6-foot-4 Newman is the top uncommitted guard in the Class of 2016. He is considering Kentucky, Kansas, LSU, N.C. State, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. He told SNY.tv last week at the Jordan Classic that he won’t sign an NLI once he chooses a school.

“No, I don’t plan on signing one,” he said. “I just feel like it’s not really a need to sign one, so I don’t want to stress myself about signing.”

Newman, who has also been approached about playing overseas next season, said then he has no timetable on making a decision.

“Whenever it feels right,” he said.
