As the game of point guard musical chairs continues, Lourawls “Tum Tum” Nairn has opted to take a “spur of the moment” visit to Michigan State this weekend, his high school coach confirmed to SNY.tv.

“Yes, he is visiting Michigan State this weekend,” Belaire (KS) Sunrise Christian Academy coach Kyle Lindsted said.

Nairn had trimmed his list to Minnesota, Oklahoma and Indiana, but now the Spartans are making an 11th-hour push after previously backing off on him. He has visited Minnesota and Oklahoma, with Indiana due up next weekend.

“Michigan State as far as we’re concerned is on equal footing,” Lindsted added to MILive.com. “We’ve had a relationship with the (Spartans) before all this started. There was a parting of ways on both sides, and now we’re back together.”

The Spartans made this move after missing out on point guards Quentin Snider (Illinois), Tyler Ulis and Tyus Jones.

Ulis is expected to pledge to Kentucky Friday night, while Jones is not planning an official to MSU.

“Now they’re scrambling to try to figure out what to do,” Jim Huber, Nairn’s AAU coach with the Mo-Kan Elite, told MILive.com. “It’s the nature of the beast.”

Huber told MILive.com that whoever lands Nairn will be getting an impact player.

“Whoever gets him is going to get a find,” he said.

“He’s a tough-minded guy. Our program, we demand defense. Tum takes part in being a good defender, on the ball, off the ball. [MSU coach Tom] Izzo likes tough kids.”
