  • Adonis Filer, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound point guard from Hammond (Ind.), has verbally committed to Clemson and is expected to sign Wednesday.

“Yeah, I did,” Filer, the Rivals No. 24 point guard in the Class of 2012, told SNY.tv by phone. “That seemed like the right school for me. My family talked about it and it seemed it was the right fit.”

Filer, who becomes the fifth 2012 commit for coach Brad Brownell’s club, also considered Utah, Purdue and Tennessee and said he expects to help Clemson right away.

“I’m more of a push-it type of point guard, I push it all the time,” he said. “I get it out, get my team involved.”

Shaq Goodwin, the No. 10 power forward in the Class of 2012, has picked his school.

    “memphisbound,” he tweeted.

The 6-foot-8, 245-pound Goodwin out of Decatur (Ga.) Southwest Dekalb High also considered Florida, Arizona, UCLA and Georgia. He joins Damien Wilson, a 6-6 small forward from Oak Hill Academy, in Memphis’ 2012 class.

Goodwin’s stock rose dramatically over the summer when he helped the Memphis YOMCA AAU team reach the finals of the prestigious Peach Jam event with a 29-point, 12-rebound performance in the semifinals against the Georgia Stars.

Goodwin teamed with fellow 6-8 big man Jarnell Stokes to form a powerful one-two punch down low.

Jordan Goodman can now add Texas Tech to the list of schools from which he decommitted.

The 6-foot-8 Arlington Country Day forward has already decommitted from Georgetown and Rutgers.

“He’s gonna decommit today,” Arlington coach Rex Morgan told SNY.tv by phone. “He just didn’t feel it was a good fit. He’s not going to sign early.”

Goodman committed to Texas Tech in May after decommitting from Rutgers.

Daniel Dingle is headed to Temple.

The 6-foot-7 forward from St. Raymond’s High School in The Bronx chose the Owls over Seton Hall, Auburn and Miami, his brother, Dana Dingle, told SNY.tv.

UMass, Maryland and Missouri had also been involved.

“I just like the whole atmosphere,” Dingle said. “I’m from The Bronx where it’s pretty diverse and Temple is also pretty diverse which really  made me feel right at home.

“Also, the coaching staff and their drive and ambition to get guys better. I will bring a well rounded person, versatile player and competitor with a great work ethic.”

NEW YORK –With about a minute and a half left in St. John’s game against William & Mary Monday night, Nurideen Lindsey cooly intercepted a crosscourt pass, took several dribbles upcourt and flushed home a dunk with nary a defender around him.

The play symbolized the second half for  the Johnnies, who turned up the pressure after trailing 33-26 at the half and cruised to a 74-59 victory in the season opener of the 2K Classic played at Carnesecca Arena.

Lindsey scored 17 of his team-high 19 points in the second half, when the Red Storm outscored the Tribe, 48-26.

“I think in the first half, guys came out and were a little tight,” Lindsey said. “We were definitely excited about the game, but we didn’t come out ready to play.

Arizona wing Kevin Parrom won’t be ready to return to the court by the time Arizona visits Madison Square Garden next week in the 2K Sports Classic, but he could be back on the court by early December.

The Arizona Daily Star reported that Parrom — who was shot in the right leg Sept. 24 in New York after an assailant broke into his home — has been cleared for basketball activities without contact for up to 60 minutes and will begin playing 5-on-5 next week.

“He’s made a lot of progress,” Arizona coach Sean Miller told the paper. “We talked about December. I think there’s a chance optimistically that it could be before that. We’re starting to count on him joining us in early December then it all comes back to, what role will he have, how successful will he be when he plays in the game.”
