Former St. John’s commit Jevon Thomas has pledged to Dayton, as first reported on my Twitter.
“I like their style of play,” Thomas said by text. “They made me feel comfortable, and [assistant coach] Allen Griffin made me feel like family, like I was a little brother.”
Another big plus for Thomas is that the Atlantic 10 will hold its conference tournament at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn beginning in 2013.
The 6-foot Thomas is now at Quality Education (N.C.) after leaving the New York area.
He decommitted from St. John’s and then re-opened his recruitment.
