  • Anderson Enjoys Seton Hall Visit

    Share Zagsblog Share Zagsblog
To hear some Seton Hall fans tell it, Kyle Anderson may be the most pivotal recruit in program history.

If the 6-foot-8 Anderson were to choose the Pirates, he would be their highest-profile recruit in a generation.

Anderson took an unofficial to the campus Thursday and came away with a positive outlook.

“The visit went well,” he said by text. “The student body was great. They showed me a lot of love. The coaches and I had a great talk.”

Two of Anderson’s former Paterson Catholic teammates, Fuquan Edwin and Jordan Theodore, are at Seton Hall and Anderson got to reconnect with them.

“I think with Seton Hall, he’s a teammate of Fuquan from high school [Paterson Catholic], so there’s a connection there,” St. Anthony coach Bob Hurley said earlier this week. “And I think the family feels right now that he’s developed into such a good player that even at a school whose talent pool isn’t quite what it was, he can still go there and help the team to win.

“I think Seton Hall even though people can criticize the roster for not being so strong because some of the names are not local kids, I think he can go in there and, because he’s such a good player, he can do things to make other players better.”

Next up for Anderson are unofficials to Georgetown (Tuesday) and St. John’s (Wednesday). He has several in-home visits lined up, including one with Seton Hall Sept. 18.

He is due to announce Sept. 20, his 18th birthday.
