NEW YORK – As David Lee walked into the tunnel at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night, a broad smile flashed across his face, fans shouted his name and some reached out to slap his hands.
They didn’t appear jarred by seeing Lee in the blue and gold of the Golden State Warriors instead of the orange and blue of the Knicks.
And those few fans still cheered for Lee after he grabbed the last rebound of the game off a missed Wilson Chandler 3-pointer and then calmly drained two foul shots to ice a 122-117 victory in his first game back at Madison Square Garden since being dealt in a sign-and-trade over the summer.
