Tobias Harris, the 6-foot-8 junior standout from Long Island Lutheran, will be out 6-8 weeks after suffering torn ligaments in his ankle during practice on Thursday.

“Tobias suffered torn ligaments in his ankle,” his father, Torrel, said. “Tobias will be out 6-8 weeks and in a cast for 2-3 weeks as these ligaments heal.

Harris injured the same ankle during the summer and was not able to play in the Reebok All-American Camp All-Star game as a result.

Harris is the No. 9 power forward in the Class of 2010 and has numerous scholarship offers. Rutgers has made him a prime target for the Class of 2010.
