    PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Things got so bad for Mike Teel at Rutgers that he would avoid people when going to class or picking up a sandwich at the deli.

    He was booed by the Rutgers fans during his last home game. And in the immediate aftermath of that contest, a two-point victory over UConn on Oct. 18, two middle-aged male fans yelled at head coach Greg Schiano to replace the team’s offensive coordinator.

    But that was then, and this is now.
