Because his Gauchos team is in the semifinals of is8 this Saturday in Queens, Rice guard Durand Scott says he won’t make his scheduled visit to Tennessee this weekend.
“I think the following week because I have a semifinal game this weekend in is8,” Scott said in a text message.
The 6-foot-4 Scott has already visited Pitt and UConn and had initially planned to see UCLA, Tennessee and Miami in successive weekends. He skipped the UCLA visit last week to play in is8 and will do the same with Tennessee this week. It remains unclear whether he’ll see Miami or Tennessee next week.
He insists he has no leader right now.
“I have no favorite, no favorite at all,” he wrote in a text.
Scott is also slated to play in the annual Metro Classic High School All-Star Game Sunday, Oct. 26 at the Island Garden in West Hempstead.
MARSHALL COUNTY HOOPFEST
The schedule for the Marshall County (Ky.) Hoopfest is out and it features many of the top high school teams in the nation, including St. Benedict’s, Oak Hill, Duncanville and Findlay Prep.
This is a terrific event. I flew down last year for the Oak Hill-St. Ben’s game and watched Tamir Jackson light up Brandon Jennings and company for 29 points on ESPN2.
