Pack your bags, juice up the rental car and get ready to hit the road. After a six-day layoff to sleep in their own beds, do some laundry and collect their thoughts, college coaches from across the nation — including Bobby Gonzalez of Seton Hall, Fred Hill of Rutgers and Norm Roberts of St. John’s — are back on the recruiting trail beginning Tuesday. The latest NCAA evaluation period runs through July 31 and will take the coaches to sweltering gyms from Las Vegas to Orlando to Phoenix in search of program-changing talent.
“It’s going to be a hectic 10 days for me,” Gonzalez, entering his third season at the helm of the Pirates’ ship, said Monday during a phone interview from Las Vegas.
