West Virginia on Sunday landed a pledge from Maciej Bender, a 6-foot-11 forward out of Grundy (VA) Mountain Mission School.
“Maciej is a very special player,” said Justin Dempsey, an assistant at Mountain Mission. “He is 6-11, very agile, can handle it, shoot it from 3, and has a very high basketball IQ and skill set. He has a solid post-up game and can use either hand and he jumps very well. He passes it very well.
“Th kid has a chance to be very very special. He may be the most underrated 4-star in the country and I’m not exaggerating.”
Bender is West Virginia’s fourth commit in 2016, joining point guard Brandon Knapper, shooting guard Chase Harler and power forward Sagaba Konate.Follow Adam Zagoria on TwitterAnd like ZAGS on Facebook
