Chris Beard and Ole Miss have landed a transfer from one of the SEC’s most prominent programs.
Florida transfer center Micah Handlogten is headed to Oxford to play for Ole Miss, On3 first reported on Friday.
A 7-foot-1 center originally from North Carolina, Handlogten is seeking a fifth year of collegiate eligibility as a member of the high school class of 2022.
Handlogten has played three seasons in the SEC, having played three years at Florida after spending his freshman season at Marshall.
The North Carolina native played a key role in Florida’s national championship in 2025, serving as an important depth piece in the Gators’ front court when star center Alex Condon was injured.
Over the course of his four-year career, Handlogten has appeared in 115 games at the collegiate level, making 66 starts and averaging 5.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.
He’s also become the latest player to spend the summer in the NBA Summer League before announcing his return to college. This past summer, Handlogten appeared in two games for the Utah Jazz, tallying 3.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
With the addition of Handlogten, Beard and the Rebels are now set to welcome 12 newcomers to the program this season.
Aside from the addition of Handlogten, Ole Miss has also landed commitments from four-star guard Yohance Connor, three-star forward Jaron Sauslberry, three-star forward Daniel Patton, Australian forward Ben Henshall, Florida International transfer Corey Stephenson, Arizona State transfer Santiago Trouet, Pepperdine transfer Stefan Cicic, Saint Joseph’s transfer Dasear Haskins, James Madison transfer Christian Brown, Seton Hall transfer Adam Clark and Pittsburgh transfer Roman Siulepa.
