To see one Lewis Uvwo performance is to have seen them all.
Playing with an abundance of adrenaline, the 6-foot-11, 225-pound Class of 2027 shot blocker is prone to uproarious outbursts following a loud, extravagant swat.
The entertainment value associated with his high wired style of play is unparalleled.
While the late and legendary Dikembe Mutumbo was known for his patented finger wag following a block, the Prolific Prep (FL) Center can be witnessed doing everything from bursting into laughter to asking a court side camera man, “did you get that?” before motoring his way down the court.
Uvwo’s top-shelf rim protection, fluid rim to rim mobility, and efficiency scoring enabled him to flee obscurity, as he rapidly emerged into one of the country’s most highly coveted recruits this summer.
After garnering offers from Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Seton Hall, Providence, Cal, Mississippi State, Texas, Florida, Miami, Alabama, Southern California, Illinois, and several others, Uvwo has visits scheduled for Baylor, Cal, Kentucky, and Providence, as first reported by 247 Sports’ National Basketball Director Eric Bossi.
Duke is among the latest offers for the Nigerian-born Uvwo, who received the offer two months ago.
Last year, Uvwo was a seldom-used big man on a Prolific Prep team which revived its roster with high end national talent, underscored by 6-foot-8 McDonald’s All American Bruce Branch (now at BYU).
Having authored a wild, stock ascending summer as arguably the country’s best player, Uvwo is now relishing a prominent role alongside returning five star point guard Nasir Anderson and electrifying Class of 2028 guard Michai White, among others.
Offensively, Uvwo has shifted his gaze to expanding his all around game.
