The NBA Champion New York Knicks will be remembered for what they did in June of their 2025-26 season. However, the first spark of success the team had that season came with a championship in December, during the Emirates NBA Cup.
The NBA has announced the results of the random drawing for the group stages of next season’s Cup competition.
The groups are as follow:
WESTERN CONFERENCE
Group A: Denver, Houston, Phoenix, Dallas, Utah
Group B: Oklahoma City, Minnesota, Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans, Memphis
Group C: San Antonio, Golden State, Los Angeles Lakers, Portland, Sacramento
EASTERN CONFERENCE
Group A: Detroit, Toronto, Milwuakee, Orlando, Brooklyn
Group B: New York, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Miami, Indiana
Group C: Boston, Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Washington
NBA Cup competition will begin Friday Oct. 30 and will be played every Friday from Oct. 30 through Nov. 27 with two additional “Cup Nights” on Tuesday Nov. 24 and Wednesday Nov. 25.
The tournament will conclude with the Championship on Friday, Dec. 11 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
