SMU has secured a surprise member for its 2025 recruiting class.
Class of 2026 forward Billy White III will play for the Mustangs one season early after reclassifying, he announced on Thursday.
The 6-foot-8 forward chose SMU over schools such as Kansas, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, TCU, Standofrd, Maryland, LSU, Virginia and Texas A&M.
He broke down his thoughts on SMU to ZAGSBLOG earlier in the summer during Adidas 3SSB Circuit play.
“Being an in-state kid, they’re at all my high school games, a lot of my live period games,” he told ZAGSBLOG. “They’re just excited to get me on campus. And they just want to try to make a push in the ACC, and they feel like I’m a player that can help them do that.”
White will join a recruiting class consisting of Jayden Toombs, Nigel Wllas, Jermaine O’Neal Jr. and BJ Davis-Ray.
