Ole Miss transfer Blake Hinson has committed to Iowa State, Evan Daniels of 247Sports.com reported Wednesday.

Hinson, a 6-foot-7, 229-pound junior guard, will apply for immediate eligibility this season after averaging 10.1 points and 4.6 rebounds for the Rebels in 2019-20.

Hinson started 58 of 60 games in which he appeared for Ole Miss.

“To make a general statement, it was time to go and leave Ole Miss,” Hinson told the Daytona Beach News-Journal Wednesday. “I’m proud not to represent that flag anymore and to not be associated with anything representing the Confederacy.”

Iowa State has the No. 27 ranked recruiting class for 2020 per 247Sports.com. They will bring in four-star center Xavier Foster, three-star point guard Jaden Walker and forwards Dudley Blackwell and Darlingstone Dubar.

The Cyclones will also bring in Memphis transfer Tyler Harris and DePaul transfer Jalen Coleman-Lands.
