Georgetown and Ed Cooley are on a roll on the recruiting trail, picking up their second class of 2024 recruit in two months since taking over the program. Four-star center Thomas Sorber announced his commitment to the Hoyas via Instagram on Wednesday.

Sorber, the 6-foot-9, 250-pound big man from Archbishop Ryan (PA), chose Georgetown over La Salle, Maryland, Miami and Penn State.

“I chose Georgetown because when I first stepped on that campus, it just felt like home,” Sorber said to On3. “It’s a great program for both basketball and academics.”

Sorber is ranked the No. 68 player in the nation, No. 13 center and No. 5 player in the state of Pennsylvania by 247Sports. He joins fellow four-star Kayvaun Mulready in Cooley’s 2024 class.

“I’m like a hard-working big that can mostly do whatever the coach wants me to do,” Sorber said of his game. “Georgetown is getting a DOG.”

Since taking over the Hoyas in March, Cooley has brought in four portal pieces for next season along with the two class of 2024 four-stars. Cooley is looking to turn around a Georgetown program that hasn’t had a winning record since 2018-19.
