One of the premier players in the NCAA has become available.

Michigan center Hunter Dickinson entered the transfer portal on Friday after another spectacular season.

Dickinson was named an AP honorable mention All-America player in 2023. In 2021, he earned a spot on the AP second-team All-America squad.

The 7-foot, 1-inch center averaged 18.5 points per game and nine rebounds per game for the Wolverines last season.

After Michigan made runs in the NCAA Tournament during his first two seasons, this year the Wolverines missed March Madness and lost in the second round of the NIT to Vanderbilt.

Dickinson immediately became the top player in the portal and is expected to receive offers from a long list of top programs.

The departure of Dickinson comes a week after Michigan freshman guard Jett Howard declared for the 2023 NBA Draft.

Michigan head coach Juwan Howard released a statement following the news of Dickinson’s decision.

“Today is bittersweet,” Juwan Howard said. “While Hunter Dickinson’s departure is unfortunate, there are so many reasons to be thankful for and celebrate. This young man has accomplished so much in his three seasons… We wish Hunter and his family all the best in the future.”
