Finding a relationship on social media isn’t a myth anymore in this day and age. Recently, a basketball player, and a former iCarly actress met through Instagram and Twitter.

Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons and Jennette McCurdy have struck up a relationship recently, which all started when Drummond posted 3 pictures of McCurdy on Instagram tagged under #WCW (Women Crush Wednesday).

McCurdy soon took notice and responded with “nice to meet you! ;)” on Twitter, and tweeted she wanted to see him play, not too long after, they tweeted out a picture together, at their first meeting.

Mory Diane, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound 2014 shooting guard from Detroit Pershing High, verbally committed to Buffalo coach Bobby Hurley.

Diane, who spent the last three years at Detroit Country Day before transferring to Pershing, took an unofficial visit to Buffalo Friday and Saturday.

“My relationship with the coaching staff and their vision for the future were the main reasons I chose Buffalo,” he told SNY.tv.

“As a guard, there’s not a better coach to be developed by than Coach Hurley. With the help of my teammates, I want to win the MAC championship and get Buffalo into the NCAA Tournament.”

Martin Geben is a 6-foot-9 Lithuanian forward from Hagerstown (Md.) St. Maria Goretti ranked No. 100 in the Rivals150 for 2014.

He visited Notre Dame this past weekend and will trip to Virginia this coming weekend. After that, he could pull the trigger for one of the two.

“He may do that, he may not,” St. Maria Goretti coach Amrit Rayfield told SNY.tv by phone. “A lot depends on the Viriginia visit and how that goes for him, if he feels comfortable with those two.”

James Blackmon picked up an offer from Michigan during his weekend visit and said he enjoyed his trip.

UMHoops.com reported that he spoke with Michigan players Mitch McGary and Zak Irvin on the trip.

“I think it just has a college feel, kind of,” Blackmon told UMHoops.com. “I like how there’s a lot of students out who were into the sports and there was people everywhere in the streets.”

He added: “(The coaches) just said that I would be a good part there and that I fit the system real well. … (The offer) is great for me to have and that’s a place that I can see myself at. Like the coaches said, I think I fit the system well because I can shoot the three, and that’s what they do.

After taking a weekend visit to UCLA, Park Tudor (Ind.) wing Trevon Bluiett has committed to the Bruins, according to ESPN.com.

“I loved the campus and Coach [Steve] Alford and his staff made me feel welcome and comfortable as soon as I stepped on campus,” Bluiett told ESPN.com.

The 6-foot-5, 185-pound wing who averaged 27.8 points last season also considered Arizona, Butler, Indiana, Michigan, Purdue and Xavier.

UCLA assistant Ed Schilling coached him at Park Tudor before joining Alford’s staff.

NEW YORK — Perhaps sensing that Roger Federer’s career is coming to a close, Rafael Nadal said he would’ve loved to have played his arch-rival at the U.S. Open.

But Nadal was referring to the finals in one of the recent years, not necessarily in this year’s quarterfinals.

“To be honest, going to be great if we were able to play that final, because I felt that our rivalry for so many years we were able to play in all the best scenarios, stadiums, around the world. Played the rest. Three finals of the Grand Slams,” Nadal said after advancing to the quarterfinals by beating Phillip Kohlschreiber of Germany, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3, 6-1.
