  • Arlington (Fla.) Country Day coach Rex Morgan has three uncommitted seniors who figure to be busy in the coming weeks making college decisions.

Ian Baker is a 6-foot-2 point guard who has been out the last three weeks with a concussion, but has been cleared to return to practice today.

“Memphis and Maryland have shown a lot of interest in Ian,” Morgan told SNY.tv Wednesday.

Carlos Morris is a 6-5 combo guard who has recently drawn interest from Xavier and St. John’s, Morgan said.

“Xavier and St. John’s are in on Carlos,” Morgan said. “They’re going to have him up on a visit.”

Here are some Big East notes heading into the final week of action…and a look at how the Big East Tournament bracket would look if the event started today.

    ·         Two seeds have been clinched for next week’s Big East Tournament. Syracuse will be the No. 1 seed, while DePaul will be No. 16.

    ·         Marquette would clinch the No. 2 seed with a win against Cincinnati tonight. The Golden Eagles have already secured a double-bye to the tournament quarterfinals.

    ·         USF would move into a three-way tie for third place with a win at Louisville tonight. Louisville, meanwhile, would forge a tie with USF with a win.

    ·         St. John’s goes for its fourth straight win with tonight’s visit to Pittsburgh. The Panthers look to snap a five-game slide.

IF THE CHAMPIONSHIP STARTED TODAY (Feb. 29) …

Here is what the pairings of the BIG EAST Championship would look like if the

Temple University’s Board of Trustees will meet via conference call Wednesday afternoon to discuss joining the Big East in all sports, CSNPhilly.com reported.

As reported here last week, the Big East has fast-tracked Temple to join for all sports in 2012 mainly because West Virginia is leaving the league by July 1 to join the Big 12. West Virginia must pay the Big East $20 million to leave early.

With only seven football schools left, the Big East needed to move fast in order to add an eighth team for scheduling purposes. Temple, which plays football in the MAC, had previously been in the Big East for football from 1991-2004 but was booted for being non-competitive.

GREENBURGH, N.Y. — While the Knicks got Iman Shumpert and Josh Harrellson back from injuries this week, center Tyson Chandler’s left wrist injury is flaring up just as the second half of the season begins.

“I’m gonna talk to the doctor today,” Chandler, the Knicks’ defensive anchor at center, said Tuesday. “Like I said, I was hoping that the time off and the rest would help me out a little bit, but. . . .”

Chandler injured both wrists and his tailbone in a Feb. 19 win over his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, but X-rays that day were negative.

GREENBURGH, N.Y. — Baron Davis’s main role in the second half of the Knicks’ season will be to shake off the rust and give Jeremy Lin some much needed rest.

But Davis should have added motivation to perform well in the team’s first game after the All-Star break Wednesday.

That’s because the Knicks (17-18) are facing the  Cleveland Cavaliers (13-18), the outfit that amnestied Davis in December after they had drafted former Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick star Kyrie Irving with the No. 1 overall pick in last year’s NBA Draft.

“It’s basketball,” Davis, who signed for the $1.5 million veteran’s minimum and is still owed $21 million by the Cavs, said Tuesday after practice.
