Georgetown big man Thomas Sorber staying in NBA Draft
BY ALEJANDRO LOPEZ
With some prospects deciding to withdraw from the NBA Draft, many wondered what decision would be made by star Georgetown big man Thomas Sorber. Now, his decision has been made clear, Sorber is heading to the draft.
The star freshman made his announcement to stay in the NBA Draft in an interview with AndyKatz and later confirmed his decision with Sports Illustrated’s Kevin Sweeney.
To double-back here, I asked Thomas Sorber this afternoon if the door was closed on him going back to Georgetown.
The 6-foot-10 big man averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game as one of the best freshmen in the BIG EAST. Despite missing a large portion of the season with a foot injury that required season-ending surgery, Sorber won seven BIG EAST Freshman of the Week awards, which tied the eventual winner of the BIG EAST Freshman of the Year award, Liam McNeeley.
Both freshmen are expected to be picked in the first round of this year’s draft.
