Class of 2023 five-star guard Ja’Kobe Walter has committed to Baylor, he announced Wednesday.

The 6-foot-5, 180-pound shooting guard from Link (MO) Academy, chose the Bears over his remaining finalists – Texas, Auburn and Alabama.

Ranked by 247Sports Composite as the No. 1 shooting guard and the No. 21 prospect in the nation, Walter joins Finnish guard Miro Little in Baylor’s 2023 recruiting class.

After taking his first official visit to Baylor during the summer of 2021, Walter took another official visit from June 13-14.

“Coach (ScottDrew and the staff let me watch the team work out and compete in all types of drills,” Walter said in a player blog with ZAGSBLOG in 2021. “The coaches gave me tips on NBA interviews and more. It was a great experience at BU.”
