USA Basketball today announced 27 athletes expected to participate at the 2022 USA Basketball Men’s U18 FIBA Americas Championship National Team training camp from May 26 – June 2 in Houston.

The athletes will vie for one of 12 spots on the USA Basketball U18 National Team that will compete at the 2022 FIBA U18 Americas Championship in Tijuana, Mexico, from June 6 – 12.

Training camp participants and coaches were selected by the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team Committee and will represent the high school graduating classes of 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Representing the class of 2021 is Corey Floyd.

The class of 2022 will be represented by Mark Armstrong, Amari Bailey, Anthony Black, Eric Dailey Jr., Dior Johnson, Ty Rodgers, Nick Smith Jr., Seth Trimble, Jordan Walsh, Kel’el Ware and Cam Whitmore.

Expected to participate from the class of 2023 are Matt Bewley, Omaha Biliew, Xavier Booker, Kanaan Carlyle, Stephon Castle, Isaiah Collier, Caleb Foster, Brandon Gardner, Brandon Garrison, Gregory ‘GG’ Jackson, Carter Lang, Jared McCain, Ja’Kobe Walter and Bryson Warren.

From the class of 2024 is Derik Queen.

Bailey, Black, Smith, Ware and Whitmore represented USA Basketball in a 102-80 win over the World Select Team at the 2022 Nike Hoop Summit in April, while Dailey Jr. was a member of the gold medal-winning 2021 USA Basketball 3×3 U18 World Cup Team. Bailey was also a member of the 2019 USA Basketball U16 National Team that compiled a 6-0 record en route to the gold medal at the FIBA Americas Championship.

Additionally, Bewley, Booker, Carlyle, Collier, Garrison, Jackson, McCain, Walter and Warren all participated at the 2022 USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team minicamp in New Orleans last month.

USA Basketball recently announced the U18 National Team coaching staff, which will be led by University of Colorado’s Tad Boyle.

Including 2018, USA has won gold in nine of 11 of the FIBA U18 Americas Championships since the event’s inception in 1990.
