Kylan Boswell, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Class of 2023 point guard from Arizona Compass Prep, is down to eight schools.

Boswell, who models his game after Trae Young and Devin Booker, lists Arizona, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Oregon, Texas Tech, UNLV, and USC, per on3recruits.com. He is rated the No. 3 point guard in the Class of 2023, per 247Sports.com.

“Visits are being changed because of COVID,” Boswell said by text. “We are working on dates. I would like to make a decision sooner than later. I think it’s good to commit and build the relationship.”

    Boswell broke down each school:

Texas Tech: “Coach Barret Peery and I have a good relationship. Texas Tech plays the brand of defense I love.”

Oregon: “It’s a great place for guards to go and develop.”

UNLV: “I have a good relationship with both coach (Kevin) Kruger and (Brandon) Chappell. They want me to help contribute right away.”

Kansas: “The history speaks for itself. Coach (Bill) Self and (Kurtis) Townsend are about winning and so am I.

USC: “I was born in Illinois, but Southern California is my second home. I know the staff and they believe in me as a point guard.”

Michigan: “Coach (Juwan) Howard and I have a great relationship. He believes in my talent and loves my defense.”

Illinois: “It would be nice to play in the city I grew up in. They are also showing how much they let their players be the best version of themselves.”

Arizona: “The entire staff communicates with me. Everyone is open and honest. They’re proving everything they said about playing style and having success with it.”

As for the deciding factors, Boswell says he’s looking at how he’ll fit with what the team needs.

“I also like a hype atmosphere,” he said.
