Zion Cruz, the 6-foot-5 combo guard from The Patrick School (N.J.) and the PSA Cardinals AAU program, took an official visit to Auburn last weekend before competing in the prestigious Pangos All-American Camp.

“The visit was great, I had great time,” he said. “They want me to come in and play right away.”

Auburn assistant Ira Bowman is a New Jersey native who starred at Seton Hall Prep, and the school has recruited tough Garden State guards in the past, most recently one-and-done point guard Sharife Cooper, a Newark native.

Ranked the No. 4 combo guard in the Class of 2022 per 247Sports.com, Cruz is planning two other visits as well.

“I will be visiting Oregon and UNC,” he said, adding that the dates are tentative.

After the Auburn visit, Cruz competed at Pangos, where he was selected to the Top 30 Cream of the Crop game.

After competing in the Rider Team Camp this weekend (June 12), Cruz and his Patrick School teammates will compete at the June Live events at The Hun School (weekend of 6/18) and Blair Academy (weekend of 6/25).
