The Big 12 Conference is eyeing a December start for men’s basketball this season, with teams holding two dates that month for league games, sources confirmed.

“There’s talk of each team having two games, one home and one road in December,” one league source said.

A year ago, the Big 12 began its season Jan. 2.

The NCAA announced Wednesday the season would start Nov. 25, meaning Big 12 teams would have a couple of weeks to play non-conference games before league play starts.

The Big East is eyeing a similar format, as I reported over on Forbes.com.
