  • Nebraska lands Pitt transfer Trey McGowens

    Pittsburgh sophomore transfer Trey McGowens announced his commitment to Nebraska on Saturday, via Twitter.

    McGowens is a sit-out transfer, though Nebraska will apply for an immediate eligibility waiver.

    After cutting his list to eight on Monday, McGowens chose Nebraska over TCU, Seton Hall, Auburn, Alabama, Xavier, Ole Miss and Arkansas.

    As a sophomore during the 2019-20 season, McGowens averaged 11.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.9 steals per game in 33 games played. McGowens started in 31 games and averaged 33.8 minutes.

    As a freshman, McGowens averaged 11.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.9 steals per game in 33 games played. He started in 32 games and averaged 27.8 minutes.

    Nebraska still remains in the mix for four-star center Adama Sanogo who is eyeing a reclass to 2020 from 2021.
