Edoardo Del Cadia, the 6-foot-7 sophomore forward from the College of Central Florida, committed to UNLV on Tuesday, as first reported by Riccardo De Angelis of Basketball NCAA.
“I’d say the main thing is the love they’ve showed me through these last two months,” Del Cadia told ZAGSBLOG Tuesday. “Head coach T.J. [Otzelberger] came down from Las Vegas three times just to see me and talk.”
Del Cadia has averaged 13.6 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists with 11 double-doubles in 25 games played this season. He is also shooting 36.8 percent from 3-point range and 83.2 percent from the free throw line.
“I always wanted to be in a hot city like Las Vegas,” Del Cadia said. “The last factor was the history that is behind UNLV, which is just great.”
Del Cadia joins Nick Blake, Reece Brown, Jhaylon Martinez, Isaac Lindsey, Donavan Yap, Devin Tillis and JUCO prospect Nick Fleming as the eighth commit in UNLV’s 2020 class.
He also held an offer from St. Peter’s.
“They run in transition and have great guards that can read the game which will get me open,” Del Cadia said on his fit with UNLV. “They will get open from my hard screens.”
