Zion Harmon, the 5-foot-11 point guard from Marshall County High School (KY), visited Kansas this week and was in attendance for the Texas game on Monday.

Kansas has prioritized Harmon for whenever he is ready to attend college.

“[Coach Bill] Self’s message was clear,” said Mike Harmon, Zion’s father. “It was that he believes that he is the best true point guard in his class but still has a lot to work on to become the player he would like to be.

“Bill Self stated that he and the Kansas program would love to help him get to that next level and fulfill Zion’s desire to win a national championship.
I really appreciated his 1-on-1 sit down talk with Zion. He really had Zion’s full attention.”

Harmon and his father are coming off an official visit to Seton Hall last month, which Mike raved about.

Mike Harmon said Zion is down to five schools: Kansas, Seton Hall, Western Kentucky, Maryland and Louisville.

Harmon is ranked No. 20 in the Class of 2021 by ESPN.com, but his father said a decision on a college and possible reclassification to 2020 should come by Zion’s 18th birthday on March 12.

“In full respect to all of the great coaches from all of the great schools and the great schools that Zion has visited, and to Zion, he will focus on his ACT Test this Feb. 8th and finishing this high school season and will use this time in careful prayer and consideration and then make his announcement in March 2020,” his father said Wednesday.
