BJ Mack, the 6-foot-7 center from Oak Hill (VA) Academy, announced his commitment to USF on Tuesday, via Twitter. Mack took his first official visit to USF earlier this month (Sept. 1).

“Thank you to all the schools and coaches that have recruited me,” said Mack in a statement released Twitter. “I would like to announce that I am verbally committing to continue my education and basketball career at [the] University of South Florida under the guidance of coach [Brian] Gregory and [Larry] Dixon. Thank you #RunWithUs

According to 247Sports, Mack is ranked as the No. 300 player in the Class of 2019 and the No. 14 player from the state of Virginia. He is the first commit in the Bulls’ 2019 class.

“He’s a highly skilled frontcourt player who can shoot it to the three-point line as well as come inside and from mid-range,” Oak Hill coach Steve Smith said. “BJ has great footwork in the low post and rebounds his position. He has great feel and understanding of how he can be most productive as a player.”

Mack, who cut his list to seven last month, chose USF over Ole Miss, East Carolina, Arkansas, Appalachian State, James Madison, and DePaul. In addition to USF, Mack also took an official visit to East Carolina earlier this month (Sept. 8).
