Kadin Shedrick, the 6-foot-11, 200-pound center from Holly Springs (N.C.), committed to Virginia on Monday.

He chose Virginia over  Florida, Indiana, Louisville, Providence, Wake Forest, Wisconsin, and Wake Forest.

“Virginia is a place where I can develop greatly athletically to become a better player,” he said. “UVA has a great reputation of doing so.”

As for what skillset he’ll bring, he said, “I’m a good rim protecter, I can stretch the floor and shoot 3s. I pass well out of the post, and I run the court well.”

Shedrick joins point guard Casey Morsell in Virginia’s 2019 class.
