Ryan Boyce, the 6-foot-5 small forward from East (TN) High School, named Florida, SMU, and Memphis as his final three schools on Friday via Twitter. He broke down each school for D1Vision.com on Friday:

SMU: “I feel at home there and when I talk to the coaches, they make me feel welcome. I’m guaranteed a lot of playing time and maybe a starting position.”

Florida: “I talk to Florida, practically every day, with coach [JordanMincy. I take an official visit there on October 14. They’ve been contacting me since my tenth-grade year.”

Memphis: “I talk to them every day also. I actually took several visits there. They have a new facility and I like their program. They play how I play: fast paced, and they run the floor.”

Boyce who is ranked by 247Sports, as the No. 159 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 4 player from the state of Tennessee.

In addition to his visit to Florida in October, Boyce is also looking to plan a visit to SMU, as he said, “I’m planning one for SMU sometime this month. We’re thinking about September 22 but that’s not official yet.”

Boyce’s commitment may be coming soon, as he told D1Vision, “Hopefully, in the next two months or two and a half months I will commit,” Boyce said. “I’m trying to get it before the season starts.”

In terms of what he’s looking for in a school, Boyce is looking beyond basketball. “I’m looking for a school that’s gonna help me be successful in life, past basketball, just in case I don’t make it to the NBA,” he told D1Vision. “I want a school that’s going to help me be successful and a school that’s going to push me to be my best.”
