Miami freshman guard Lonnie Walker tore his right meniscus and will have to undergo surgery.

Walker was ranked 12th in the final ESPN100 Class of 2017 rankings and was both a McDonald’s All-American and Jordan Brand Classic All-American. It’s unsure when Walker will come back and be ready to play at full speed, but it’s been confirmed by ESPN that Miami coach Jim Larranaga expects Walker will be back by November in time for the start of the season.

At 6-foot-4, Walker will play a major role right away in the Hurricanes’ rotation this season.  Walker is a dynamic scorer who can put the ball in the bucket from all three levels which will make him a vital contributor for Miami in 2017-18.

Walker is projected to be selected 11th overall according to the 2018 DraftExpress Mock Draft.
